SUPPORTING THE FOCUS
-
At Morningside University, I have developed two major scholarship initiatives (Access to Mside and SiouxlandBound/MsideProud). The programs are crafted specifically for Pell-eligible students from rural communities in the Midwest.
-
My personal journey of growing up in poverty, coupled with my unwavering commitment to ensuring that students have access to first-rate education, has fully equipped me to lead the charge for academic achievement and student engagement at B-CU.
-
At MU, developed a One-Stop-Shop Student Success Center model that is staffed by University personnel who are extremely knowledgeable of student support services.
-
At MU, implemented tutorial sessions for gateway courses with historically high failure rates.
-
At MU, created Peer-Mentoring Program that works side by side with One-Stop-Shop Student Success Center.
-
At MU, initiated a robust Early Alert System that allows all faculty, coaches and student life personnel to log concerns about specific students.
-
Established a response team (SEMSC) of academic advisors and student services personnel who reach out within 48 hours of an alert, and created tiered intervention protocols based on severity of academic, social or emotional risk.
-
At MU, in addition to chapel services, implemented numerous bible study, prayer, and service groups for all students.
