SUPPORTING THE FOCUS

  • I have 30+ years of experience leading in private higher education, with 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PRESIDENT in private institutions of higher learning.

 

  • Currently: President of Morningside University (private, United Methodist-related institution with 2,500 students; $60M budget; and $65M Endowment). 

 

  • Past: Senior Vice President & Chief Mission Integration Officer (Methodist-Le Bonheur Healthcare with 13,000 employees; $2B annual revenue; Provided leadership for system-wide division that included the Methodist Healthcare Foundation (fundraising for capital projects, service line development and medical research), Chronic Disease Self-Management, Community Outreach/Public Health, Health Equity and Ethics, Pastoral Care, and Volunteer Services.

 

  • Past: President, Gammon Theological Seminary (the only HBCU graduate theological institution related to the United Methodist Church). 

 

  • Past: Leadership roles at the Johns Hopkins University and Duke University .

 

From disruptions at the USDOE, to the highly charged current social/political environment, to the role and place of AI, and most of all the unique challenges facing HBCU’s, B-CU will require a leader who on “day one” is capable of grappling with and offering solutions to the many issues the institution may encounter.  Without question, my successful and effective leadership experiences have prepared me to help propel B-CU to newer and higher heights.
